I HATE that assessments are 90% of our grade. I can't wait for optimization problems!

  2. I HAVE READ THE SILLY BUS! Im really pumped that we are already on the third course topic and we're just flying through the year! Too bad our summatives are worth so much and we have one coming up.

I have read the syllabus and calculus learning standards. I like that we can retake quizes for a chance to get a better grade.

You should change the assessments to less than 90% of our grade because it's too much! I like everything else on the syllabus though! I'm excited to learn more topics!

I think the 90% for the assessments is a bit too much and 60%-75% would be much more logical. The rest of the syllabus looks great though and the topics look interesting.

  6. I have read the class syllabus and do not like how assessments are worth 90% of our grade but I am excited to have a "more advanced understanding of Calculus"!

  7. I, Taytum Elizabeth Geary (the first), have read the syllabus and am dissatisfied with the percentage of assessments going into our grade. The past lessons have gone by quickly and I am stoked to learn new material!!!!!

I find it a little humorous (but mandatory) that our notes/homework will be checked for eligibility for make up assignments. I am also very excited that we are already on our 3rd topic of 8. I think it is fair that our quizzes and tests are worth the most because that is where the basis of our knowledge is. It is important to do homework to learn but getting an A in a class because you complete homework does not mean you know the material. I enjoy that we are able to retake most quizzes!

I have read and understand the syllabus and although i do not like it, i do think it is fair that tests and quizzes are most of our grade because it shows if you actually know the material. I also like how if we get an A we do not have to take the final!

  10. I have read the syllabus and i do not like the fact that if we do bad on a test or a quiz we fail because it is worth so much to our grade. The only part i like is we do not have to take a final if we get a A

  11. I have read and understand the syllabus and I do not like that assessments are worth 90% of our grade. I think they should be worth 40-50%, while homework assignments and the journals each (separately) should be worth 20-30%. Many students do not test well and show their best work through homework assignments. I don't think it is fair to count tests so heavily and everything else so little.

  12. From reading the syllabus, I don't like how quizzes/tests count as 90% of our grade. I think everything else should count more and that shouldn't be counted so heavily. I do like though how if we get an A in the class then we don't have to take the final, because this shows we have already mastered the material.

  14. I have read and understand the syllabus. I do not like that 90% of the grade is assessments because I am not the best test taker. I think participation should be a part of the grade because I feel that it is an important part of learning the material. I am glad that if I have an A, I do not have to take the final. I like that we are able to retake many quizzes.

  15. I have read the syllabus, it looks pretty good, pretty self-explanatory. Im not too psyched that assessments count for 90% of my grade But on the other hand, homework only counts for 5%, which is pretty sweet. I'm excited to learn about particle problems.

  16. Read and understand the syllabus. Idk why people are even complaining about when it comes to scaling, aside from just wanting free points to be worth more than 10%. Good to see we are progressing at a nice pace.

  17. I read the syllabus. 90% of our grade being tests and quizzes seems overwhelming but I feel like it will push everyone to learn as much as they can.

  18. nothing is posting and it's making me mad but i hate that 90% of our grade are the tests but i like that we have a defined course syllabus because some teachers don't
